Milan, 5 September 2024 — As part of the Erasmus+ project Wszechnica Wiedzy, a delegation of Polish community leaders visited Milan for a one-day educational exchange focused on innovative approaches to social inclusion. The visit was hosted by ASTIPA in collaboration with its local partners, Associazione Francesco Realmonte and I Giovani x i Giovani.
The main objective of the visit was to enable participants to learn from good practices and practical methodologies in the fields of migrant and refugee integration, disability inclusion through sport, educational support for at-risk youth, and urban regeneration for social cohesion.
The training programme featured four thematic sessions:
-
“Sport and Disability: the Experience of ‘I Giovani x i Giovani’”
A presentation and discussion on how inclusive sports initiatives can foster interaction and social participation among youth with disabilities. -
“Working with Refugees: the Skills of Those Who Help and Those Who Are Helped”
A session dedicated to understanding the interpersonal, intercultural, and organizational competencies needed in refugee support work. -
“Fighting School Dropout: the Popular Schools”
A look into grassroots educational projects that combat school disengagement and promote inclusion through community-led learning. -
“Urban Regeneration and Social Integration”
A conversation on urban transformation projects in Milan that actively involve local communities to build inclusive public spaces.
The visit offered participants from Poland an opportunity to exchange experiences with Italian peers and to reflect on the role of education, sport, and local development in creating more inclusive societies. It also strengthened the transnational partnership under the Wszechnica Wiedzy project, which continues through 2025.
The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme under the KA210 – Small-scale partnerships in adult education, and is coordinated by Instytut Społeczny PACTUM (Poland).
