PNRR and local authorities: focus on Metropolitan Cities

ASTIPA took part today in a meeting dedicated to reviewing the implementation progress of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) in the local authorities’ sector — municipalities, provinces, and metropolitan cities — with a specific focus on the latter.

The discussion, promoted by the IFEL Foundation (ANCI Foundation) and introduced by Francesco Monaco, Head of the Department, was opened by Francesco Vassallo, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Milan, and animated by a wide participation of managers, officials, and experts.

During the meeting, participants examined:

  1. the number of projects assigned to metropolitan cities out of the total financed by the PNRR;
  2. the share of total resources allocated to them;
  3. the number of tenders awarded compared to those published;
  4. the specific implementation status for each metropolitan city — from Milan to Bari, from Turin to Genoa, and from Naples to Catania.

ASTIPA’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to monitoring and supporting the effective implementation of PNRR initiatives within local governance and territorial development.
