“Treasures of Europe” Exhibition Opens at Conversano’s Civic Library
On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the “Maria Marangelli” Civic Library in Conversano (Bari), hosted the inauguration of the photographic exhibition “Treasures of Europe”. Part of the Erasmus+ “Skarbiec Eurpy” project, the exhibition highlights cultural and historical connections across Europe through a collection of evocative photographs.
The event, attended by about 70 people, featured two moments. It began in the library’s cloister with the opening of the exhibition, which will remain accessible to the public until mid-December. Roberto Toscano, director of the local partner organization, Venti di Scambio, introduced the exhibition, outlining its aims and inviting attendees to explore the displays.
The second part of the evening moved to the library’s upper floor, where participants delved deeper into the project’s development. Valentino Necco from ASTIPA provided an overview of the Italian contribution, while Stanislaw Derehaljo from Pactum (from Poland, lead partner) explained the European scope of the initiative. This was followed by the screening of video commercials created by the three partner organizations.
The audience also heard from workshop participants, who shared insights into the creative process behind the photos and videos. They discussed how themes were selected, how the workshops were conducted, and what they learned during the experience, adding personal perspectives and motivations.
Before the main event, attendees joined a guided tour of Conversano’s historic center, exploring the sites featured in the photographs and learning about their cultural and historical significance.
The evening concluded with an open dialogue between the public, project representatives, and workshop participants, offering a thoughtful exchange of ideas and reflections.
