On September 5, 2024, ASTIPA had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation of Polish community leaders in Milan for an educational visit organised within the Erasmus+ project Wszechnica Wiedzy. The initiative, coordinated by the Instytut Społeczny PACTUM, aims to foster international cooperation in the field of adult education and social inclusion.
The visit was an opportunity to present and exchange good practices developed in Milan for the integration of migrants, refugees, and socially excluded groups. ASTIPA, together with its local partners Associazione Francesco Realmonte and I Giovani x i Giovani, hosted a series of thematic sessions covering key areas of inclusion:
-
Sport and Disability – presented by I Giovani x i Giovani, this session explored how inclusive sports initiatives can promote participation and reduce barriers for young people with disabilities.
-
Working with Refugees – focused on the relational and intercultural skills needed by both professionals and volunteers working in refugee support.
-
Fighting School Dropout – showcased the experience of Milan’s “popular schools”, which offer non-formal education paths for young people at risk of exclusion.
-
Urban Regeneration and Social Integration – a discussion on how community-led urban transformation projects contribute to building cohesive and inclusive neighbourhoods.
The event facilitated a rich exchange of experiences between Polish and Italian participants, strengthening the transnational partnership and reinforcing ASTIPA’s commitment to inclusive practices at the local and European level.
The Wszechnica Wiedzy project is funded under the Erasmus+ KA210 – Small-scale Partnerships in Adult Education and will continue with further activities and knowledge-sharing initiatives through 2025.
