Building Bridges: the study visit

Within the framework of the project “Building Bridges: Empowering Migrants through Intercultural Education”, we co-organised and hosted a study visit in Italy (Milan) from April 9 to 11, together with Associazione Francesco Realmonte , welcoming our Polish partners (PFFR).

The visit marked an important step in the project implementation and was focused on knowledge transfer and the exchange of experiences among partners. During the programme, we engaged in a detailed analysis of key documentation, including curricula, teaching materials, and assessment systems. In parallel, we took part in meetings with staff, thematic workshops on methodology and intercultural relations, as well as presentations of good practices developed within the partnership.

Participants had the opportunity to explore the hosting organisations’ facilities and to visit local initiatives supporting migrant integration in the Milan area. These activities offered a concrete perspective on how services are structured and delivered, while also providing useful insights for reflecting on how similar approaches could be adapted and implemented in different national and organisational contexts.

A central component of the visit was the joint planning of future activities. This phase enabled partners to identify practical solutions, exchange operational perspectives, and define shared approaches for the next stages of the project. The discussion contributed to strengthening alignment among partners and ensuring a more coordinated and effective implementation.

For ASTIPA, co-hosting the visit represented a significant opportunity to further develop internal competencies and to reinforce international cooperation. The exchange of practices and methodologies contributed to refining our approach, particularly in the field of intercultural education and migrant support. We believe that the outcomes of this experience will have a positive impact on the quality of services offered to migrants and refugees and will contribute to promoting more inclusive and responsive educational environments.
