The project Be Smart – CulturArteSport for Social Inclusion is carried out from October 2024 to June 2025 in the municipalities of Cinisello Balsamo and Varedo, with the involvement of over 1,100 high school students, 300 young people from local parishes, and 90 students from College Como.
It combines cultural, artistic and sports-based activities to foster participation, social inclusion and psycho-physical well-being among young people. Workshops, peer-to-peer activities, and creative labs in photography, videography and hip hop are designed to strengthen social ties, creativity, and self-esteem, while addressing issues such as bullying, social withdrawal and educational poverty.
A central element of the project is the Pietro Benini Prize, which rewards students’ reflections on the theme “Sport and Disability” during the annual event I Giovani per i Giovani at the Allianz Cloud Arena in Milan in March 2025. The project concludes with a final event in May 2025 at the Sports Hall of Cinisello Balsamo, featuring performances, exhibitions and activities highlighting the results achieved.
The initiative is developed by a network of organizations active in the social, cultural and educational field: I Giovani x i Giovani, Fondazione Monserrate, Circolo Pablo Neruda, and ASTIPA, responsible for communication and evaluation.
